NASB | 1 Corinthians 13:1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 13:1 ¶ If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love [for others growing out of God's love for me], then I have become only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal [just an annoying distraction]. |
Bible Question:
Is speaking in tongues for private use at home? I have a book that says, that it's not really for private use and that seems strange to me. I'm reading up on it now but what some help. Thanks |
Bible Answer: speaking in tongues is speaking in a language that you do not know. I speak english and cannot speak any other language because I have not studied it. in the early church many people were coming from all over the different areas to hear the gospel. God gave the apostles and others the gift to speak in any language so that everyone who came could understand the message. |
