AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 13:1 ¶ If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love [for others growing out of God's love for me], then I have become only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal [just an annoying distraction]. |
Subject: Can anyone speak in tonges |
Bible Note: Scripture ... Acts 2:8 "And how is it that we each hear them in our own language to which we were born?" ... You said "Tongues was not a "known" language in the book of the Acts." Read the context of the verse cited ... the speakers didn't study the language they were speaking. Also Alexander the Great had conquered most to the area of the listeners - while Greek may have been forced on them, they still kept their language. The reason for an interpreter was most of the listeners didn't know the foreign language, so they needed to hear it ... maybe it was Greek. Searcher |
