NASB | 1 Corinthians 13:1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 13:1 ¶ If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love [for others growing out of God's love for me], then I have become only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal [just an annoying distraction]. |
Subject: Can anyone speak in tonges |
Bible Note: I fully agree that tongues is a lesser, and primarily temporal gift, but are you stating that tongues is always a "known" language? If so, why would Paul have stated that there should be an interpretor? Tongues was not a "known" language in the book of the Acts. Nor is it today. For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. 1Co 14:2 |
