Subject: who today can perform miracles? |
Bible Note: eowyn7378: In reference to Benny Hinn you observed, "what I had seen looked credible." .... Sure it did! The more bogus these charlatans are the more credible they tend to look. They are pros. They are slick. They are masters of deceit. Their "name it and claim it" heresy works well -- for them. They take their "blessings" to the bank every week in hard cash, cash they have bilked from their guillible followers who would not fall for their lies if they were modern-day Bereans who searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether what they were being taught squared with the Scriptures. (See Acts 17:10,11). Many of these religious quacks would be forced to sell their luxury cars and private jets if there were more Bereans, who not only searched the Scriptures but, as the Acts 17 passage says, received the word of God with eagerness. People are looking for a quick fix, a spiritual panacea, a "name it and claim it" ticket to health and wealth. These purveyors of spiritual sorcercy promise them all these things. That's why they're so popular. They pander to human greed. The truth has never been "popular" and Scripture never says it ever will be, "For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it" (Matthew 7:14). --Hank |
