Subject: Physically Correct Communion? |
Bible Note: Garathorn Thank you. Your right communion can become almost common if we allow it and that is a danger as we see in 1 Cor 11. It is for this reason that I appreciate the focus on communion I see in the Catholic and some of the protestant orthodox denominations. I especially like to receive communion from my friend a Episcopalian bishop in his church, there is such awe and reverence. Each time it is like he is able to transport you right into Jesus’ presence as you partake of the elements. Interestingly his communion is found in the Book of Common Prayer. It seems some of those old codgers had it together when they came up with some of these prayers and church ordinances. Of course I'm sure there are many that will disagree and that is okay too. Preventing communion from becoming a habit or common is one of my biggest battles. That is why I would rather partake than serve. EdB |
