NASB | Romans 8:34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 8:34 Who is the one who condemns us? Christ Jesus is the One who died [to pay our penalty], and more than that, who was raised [from the dead], and who is at the right hand of God interceding [with the Father] for us. |
Subject: Christ is an all-sufficient Saviour |
Bible Note: Thanks! Those verses are so fundamental to understanding salvation. And yet we will still try to use human understanding and suffer so much in our foolish pride in trying to take charge of it ourselves and complicate things by tacking our own worthless name to it! One passage that so often comes to my mind is: "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." Eph 2:8-10 It's just so much easier and such a real joy in the peace of heart and well-being we get by, getting out of the way and, simply letting Him -our all-sufficient Saviour- be in charge! :-) John |
