Bible Question: Before people are born, does God have people ( the Elect" ) already picked out who will go to heaven and who will not make it? |
Bible Answer: Hi, Moonzzup... Welcome to the forum! Because of the sin of Adam, every human being is destined to hell. What is more, in their lives they affirm the justice of God's judgement "The wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23) for "there is none righteous, not even one; there is none who understands, there is none who seeks for God; all have turned aside, together they have become useless; there is none that does good, there is not even one" (Romans 3:10-12). God does not need to do anything to these men. His wrath will come upon each of them. He does this to the glory of His justice. However, God chose a remnant for His own (1 Corinthians 1:26-29). We are further told that this choosing was made by God even before He laid the foundations of the Earth (Ephesians 1:4-5). Although there is nothing in His elect that makes them worthy of being His own, He does this to the glory of His mercy. This is a marvelous truth that the Scripture affirms over and over. Therefore call out to this almighty, thrice holy God, that He might save you from the Wrath to come (1 Thessalonians 1:10). His sheep hear His voice and respond (John 10:27). In Him, Doc |
