Bible Question:
does god have a calling upon everyones life |
Bible Answer: That's a very good question. The Bible does say that God wishes than none shall perish, but for all to have everlasting life (John 3:16). So we were created in hopes that everyone would go to Heaven, unfortunately, not everyone actually does. In that respect, yes, we are all called to live eternally with God. However, if you are referring to full-time ministry, then no, everyone is not called. Look at 1 Corinthians 12. Although, the chapter is mainly on spiritual giftings and specific calls to ministry, the same principle can be applied to a society. If all of us were church pastors, who be would the congregation? If all of us were police men, who would put out fires? I think that every member in the Body of Christ has a place. No matter if it's a place in ministry or if you're the working at the 7-11, someone has to do it. I don't know for sure that there is anyone who is specifically called to pump gas, but I do know that God knows that the employer has a need and God can provide an individual for that vacancy. I don't know how well I answered your question, but I hope you can find the answer and what God's call on you life is. Jesified |
