AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 8:26 ¶ In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words. |
Bible Question:
I read somewhere that God/Holy Sprit will not do something for us, or intervene, if we can somehow do it ourselves... that's how we grow, through suffering etc. It makes sense to me but haven't seen anything in the Bible either way. Any opinions on this pro or con, or bibcal references that may address this issue. |
Bible Answer: John 15:5 says "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing." Whatever you do, it will be done by the power, leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit, regardless of your maturity in Christ. |
