Bible Note: Hi The CurtMan, I do not wish to put His name in lower case. But I believe that there are many cases where Holy Spirit is capitalized when it is not talking about the Holy Spirit. There are many places where Spirit is capitalized when it is actually not speaking of the Holy Spirit but rather is talking about an angel. Ezekiel 3:12, 14; 8:3, 11:1, 24, and 43:5 are examples of an angel lifting up Ezekiel and it speaks of the Spirit lifting him up. I think that we should distinguish between an angel and the Angel; between a spirit and the Spirit. Ezekiel 36:26 speaks of "a new heart and put a new spirit within you". Verse 27 says "I will put My Spirit within you". Ezekiel 37:14 says "And I will put My Spirit [marginal note, Or, breath] within you and you will come to life". I am asking for a discerning spirit and a testing of the spirits so that we know who or what we are talking about. From the heart, Ray |
