Bible Note: Praise the Lord Radioman2, Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Since the word of God is a two edged sword, it not only cuts when we swing it out; it can also cut us when we pull it in. What I am getting at is that the word of God is the key to cutting evil out of our thoughts and intents of our heart. I don't know about you, but I welcome His cutting me as a skilled brain surgeon removes tumors. The reason I am saying this is because, when taken as a whole, the word of God is extremely balanced against sin. When we seek out all that God's word has to say about any matter, the Word staightens us out in areas that we did not realize we even had a problem. This is why it is important to cross reference scriptures before coming to conclusions. I don't trust myself to understand how God feels about a subject until I have examined many scripture passages. Remember that God's thoughts are far to high over our thoughts: Isaiah 55 8"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD. 9"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. This is why the Diocese of New Hampshire of the Episcopal Church cannot see the need for repentance. All they see is a loving Jesus with open arms. They have closed their eyes and hardened their hearts. They forget that God is also the great rightious Judge that deals justice and expects and requires perfection. They will not abandon their own thoughts as the Word requests: Isaiah 55 6Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. 7Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. I am very disturbed that more true Christians do not speak out against adultery in there own churches. Many seem to hate the self soul searching that repentance messages bring. They say "you are judging! For all have sinned and fallen short!" They say "what do you mean by shaming them? That is not loving!" Well it is "not loving" to let someone burn up when you could have told them that the house was on fire! Sorry Radioman2, but the preacher in me must speak out. God bless you, Pastor Glenn |
