Question (full): Thank you for your references to Gen 2.24 and Mal. I assume from this that Paul is taking the first five books and referring to them as 'the law', but he seems to mix them, as he is clearly referring to the Ten Commandments in verse 7 of chapter 7, being the moral law which we as believers are empowered to keep through the experience of the 'new birth'. Those to whom he was writing obviously understood the law about which he was referring. It is an interesting thought that if the whole of the Pentateuch is considered as law, this would include all humanity, not just the Israel nation. |
