Bible Question: I really believe in God, Christ and the Holy Spirit. Recently in our bible syudy at church we have been discussing the Old Testament.. Over and again when I ask a question we are told that none of it applys to today. Do we only read the OT to learn the lessons that the OT people learned?(I know we get the ten commandments from it) Please , anyone that reads this, I believe in the bible I praise God for salvation. I am just wondering. |
Bible Answer: Greetings fritzgirl001! We don't throw the baby out with the bath water and neither do we throw the Old Testmanet out because we have the New! When you are told that the Law does not apply today, it means that we don't observe the Law to obtain our salvation. Jesus fulfilled all of the Law's requirements and offered Himself as our Perfect Sacrifice to satisfy the demands of God for our sin. There are some excellent posts on this verse for you to read.
