Bible Question:
Luke 9:54 When a Samaritan village refused to receive Jesus,James and John said,"Lord do u want us to call a fire down from heaven to destroy them?".Jesus rebuked them. But, in Mathew 10:14-15 Jesus says that if a town does not welcome you, leave that place and shake the dust off ur feet. "I assure u,that on Judgement day,God will show more mercy to the people of Sodom and Gomorrah than to the people of that town." A God who says"bless those who curse you and pray for those who ill treat you",I thought he would ask his disciples to pray for that town. why do u think he said so? views on this plzz |
Bible Answer: Let us never forget that God is the judge as well as executioner. We often talk about being saved. What do we mean? Saved from what? Our salvation means we are saved from the Wrath of God. Each time the Gospel message comes near a person, there is the opportunity to obey it. If they reject it, then they remain under the wrath of God (John 3:36). The mission of the Christ's disciples was to bring the message of the Gospel. People's response to it is a matter between themselves and the God who will judge them. |
