Bible Answer: Hi, aflame... All human religions are about man's effort to make himself suitable to the divine. In other words, they are efforts for us to reach "heaven" however that might be defined. This is called, "autosoterism" by theologians. In that respect, Islam is no different than any other religion. Christianity is the opposite. It clearly asserts that sin is so heinous that Adam's single act of disobedience condemned all of his descendants. There is nothing any of us can do to commend ourselves to so holy a God. Therefore, the only solution is for God to very specifically and assuredly accomplish the redemption of His own.
