Bible Question: WHY IS THE BLOOD THE PRICE? |
Bible Answer: God's Answer To The Problem of Sin Romans 5:6-10 God’s provision for human sin is the blood that Jesus Christ shed on Calvary’s Cross. When He was crucified, Christ bore the penalty for all sin of all mankind, and all who look to the Cross and trust Jesus as their Savior will escape the wrath of God. However, God also gave us a provision to deal with the principle of sin that lives within every person because of the fall of Adam and Eve: the Holy Spirit. He lives within each believer to empower us to overcome temptation and the power of sin. "For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life" (Romans 5:10). How refreshing and encouraging it is to know that, while Jesus’ death paid for our sin, we are just as powerfully saved day to day through His resurrected life. Colossians 3:1-10 explains how we are new creations set apart by God for holiness. We should always be careful never to lower the standard of holiness to which the Lord calls us. While we should be thankful for Jesus’ sacrifice, we should celebrate His very life living on the inside of us. He condescends to lovingly live His life through believers to enable us to live victoriously in these human bodies. It would be impossible without Him. |
