NASB | Romans 5:19 For as through the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 5:19 For just as through one man's disobedience [his failure to hear, his carelessness] the many were made sinners, so through the obedience of the one Man the many will be made righteous and acceptable to God and brought into right standing with Him. |
Bible Question: How does Romans 5:19 relate to the doctrine of sin? |
Bible Answer: It is clear, that through Adam, we are all sinners. We are born into sin and therefore even the most beautiful baby, born into a family and so dearly loved by that family, he/she is capably of all sin. Somehow we need to change that pattern but it is not in our power to do so. So we all need the power of God to bring us out of sin into a righteousness that is acceptable to God So, ONE MAN, the perfect Man, by being obedient to God, died on the cross of Calvary. I am not righteous by my own efforts but by the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ. That does not make me proud or boastful, but rather it humbles me to know that God so loved that His only Son has died for me. Praise His name!! |
