Bible Question:
I recently listened to a doctor making the comment concerning Eve's sin and I confess that I wouldn't know how to answer that. He said that the fall of mankind is unjustified and that other people shouldn't be born sinners because of the sins of their parents. And he concluded: "I say that it is immoral to punish everyone for the sin of one." What would you say? Thank you, Finder |
Bible Answer: Dear Finder, As Jonathan Edwards put it, "Sin is against an infinitely worthy being and is therefore infinitely heinous." Adam's sin was so criminal that it infected every single one of his descendants. Sinful men would like to declare such a thing as "unjust" (Ezekiel 18:29ff). They believe that if they can find fault with God, it will exonerate them from their own guilt. However, God's judgment is always perfect (Deuteronomy 32:4). In Him, Doc |
