AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified [that is, acquitted of sin, declared blameless before God] by faith, [let us grasp the fact that] we have peace with God [and the joy of reconciliation with Him] through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed). |

Bible Note: Greetings Formereverything! I think I understand what you are asking. In Rom. 5, Paul is comparing the extent of sin with the extent of grace. Both were extended to all people. However, Rom. 5:17 also makes it very clear that the 'effect' of the atonement only applies to those who 'receive' God's grace. So, like sin, grace is extended universally, but it is not applied universally. It is applied only to those who receive it. I hope this helps! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
