Bible Note: Well Robert, I do have a reponse to this. AMEN. Excellent post. I have thought a lot about this communication of sin from one generation to the next and I agree with you that it is not profitable to wrestle with the vessel of the transmission of sin. BUT! When I consider genetics, it becomes easier to understand how the Lord Jesus could be both fully man and fully Divine. Frankly, because he had the genes of His mother, I believe the possibility to choose to yield to sin was present.(1 Peter 2:22 says the He "COMMITTED NO SIN,") Thankfully, Christ continually chose to be obedient to His Father and in doing so, became the Perfect substitutionay sacrifice for us! The presence of the Holy Spirit in the incarnation of Jesus is the power necessary to overcome the possibility of sin that was present though the genetic contribution of Mary. In no way am I suggesting that Mary was without sin. Au contraire! Mary, possessing the genetic material of the original Adam, was indeed an inheritor of a sin nature and needed a Redeemer - as you have pointed out! Well, this is my thinking (to date anyway!)Won't it be wonderful to fully understand the workings of Grace when we get to Glory?! Blessings, mommapbs |
