Bible Answer: Dear Maearl, The sins that you commit are your own. God will hold you responsible. However, that does not mean that your sin will not have consequences on the people around you. (For example, Hitler died before I was born, but the consequences of his sin effect me every day.) Sin is incredibly damaging and hurtful. The fallout from sin often effects the innocent. You won't find a single person who fully agrees with God's judgment in dealing with sin. That's because some of us don't realize how infinitely holy He is the Lord; some of us don't realize how utterly heinous is our "tiniest" sin; etc. etc. If you went to court would you want a judge that was crooked, or one that one innocent? Would you want a judge that knew all the facts, or only a few of them? You see, our real problem is that we think that we know enough to decide what is fair. We don't... not by a long shot. By the way, you will also never find a perfectly innocent person. Also, don't worry that God might condemn someone based on your actions or inactions. You and I do not have the power to get in God's way. Another person's salvation is not dependent on you... it is a work that God alone does! If He chooses to save someone, it will inevitably take place (John 6:37, 44). Take joy, however, if He uses you along the way. He often blesses us in that regard. In Him, Doc |
