Bible Question: A group of girls I work with like to get together once a month or so to do something together. This month they have decided they want to go to a local casino. I do not feel comfortable there and could probably just beg off, but I feel that as a Christian, I need to give an answer for my convictions. What does the Bible specifically say about gambling? How can I answer their questions, especially since the one girl who had this idea is very vocal about her Christianity and needs to hear a Biblically based answer. Thanks for any help. |
Bible Answer: Dear saltoftheearth, Here are a couple links I think may help. http://www.blueletterbible.org/faq/gambling.html http://www.gotquestions.org/gambling-sin.html See also 1 Corinthians 8 and Romans 14. I know it is talking about a different subject but I feel the same principle applies. If your conscience has you apprehensive and you make that known, then by all means, your friend should respond accordingly. The least you should do is adhere to your stance for your own conscience’s sake. WOS |
