Bible Question: In ref to Rom 13:1, should a Christian submit to a leader who lives in unrighteousness and wickedness |
Bible Answer: Greetings totoy, There are 5 options you have when you are in that situation. They are: Options when Disagree with God-ordained authority 1) Obey - God has told us to submit to the authority that is placed over us. We should hav a heart to obey. If those above us are not living for God then we should still serve in every way that we can righteously serve. 2- Obey with contention - There is never a reason to do this – remember the priinciple of seed time and harvest 3- Disobey – We should disobery ONLY when there is a Clear and Direct violation of scripture 4- Abstain – ok to disobey if it is a direct violation of my conscious then you request to be dismissed. 5- Leave – Only when God says and you are directed by the Holy Spirit to do so. Hope this helps. prayon |
