Bible Question: Thanks for your reply. It is indeed helpful and remindful. I am actually refering to being an active member at two churches. You do bring up a good point that it is difficult to be wholeheartedly commited to both. However, I was thinking that if the 2 churches meet for corporate worship at different times then it becomes possible to attend both for corporate worship and then become active in other activities and commitments by dividing up my time at both. Admitedly then each church has only 50 percent of my time as it would otherwise but is not that time still 100 percent of my time that I have available still spent in active duty in Christian life? Thereby, am I really robbing God of my Christian duties of commitment and time to active service for him? |
Bible Answer: It is not ok to be a member of 2 followings, even though they both are Christ centered, visit yes, but active members no. We are commanded by the Lord to be subject unto one Teacher or leader. Heb 13:7,17 We are vessels either of mercy or wrath rom 9:22-23 Any vessel that has no cover is considered Num 19:15 to be unclean, in error, or not fit for the Masters use! We must follow His instructions! There is only one cap, top or covering for any vessels made! The anointing or instructions given to man first starts with the man or woman of God to whom the Lord has placed over a particular local church. ps 133:2 then it is presented to the followers of that congregation by the (Pastor)lid of the vessel of mercy! God is not the author of confusion (1 cor 14:33.) Notice how when Jesus began to preach John began to decrease. |
