Bible Question:
I have recently encountered a group of friends that "prefer" each other to the exclusion of others. While I see some benefit from this in the fact that they have to deal with far less pressure from the world, they are quick to exclude non believers and seperate themselves from peoples problems. If one of their number "steps out of line" so to speak, that person is quickly left on their own. They feel that this "punishment" will bring that person back to their senses. While some of their views seem correct,it is my understanding that we should reach out to the world, and remain no part of it. How can I convey this point to them in a way that they will listen? Any verses or suggestions will be appreciated. These are strong people just so seperated from the world that they reach no one, and non believers feel them to be judgemental and arrogant. I appreciate you answers and views on this subject In Him, Zach |
Bible Answer: John 17:6-19 says Jesus was in the world, but not of it. Matthew 28:18-20 commands us to go into the world (all nations) ... making disciples. Romans 10:15-13 says there needs to be someone sent ... to preach ... so people can hear ... believe ... call on Him ... so they can be saved. Searcher |
