NASB | Romans 11:11 ¶ I say then, they did not stumble so as to fall, did they? May it never be! But by their transgression salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make them jealous. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 11:11 ¶ So I say, have they stumbled so as to fall [to spiritual ruin]? Certainly not! But by their transgression [their rejection of the Messiah] salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make Israel jealous [when they realize what they have forfeited]. |

Bible Note: Thanks Darcy and Makarios. I'm still trying to get through all the post....boy Makarios you weren't kidding one bit when you said there would me more than enough reading....WOW. Tuggy brought up a very interesting scripture (2 Peter 2:20-22) and I had already been curious about this doctrine because of Romans 11. I personally don't think that believing in or disbelieving this doctrine will determine my fate after death but I am very curious about it. I will continue to read the post and if I don't find a post where someone has explained the two verses I mentioned above I hope you don't mind my coming back with more questions. I probably won't be back until next weekend so take care Darcy, Makarios, and Tuggy. Thanks again and blessings to each of you. |
