AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 11:1 I say then, has God rejected and disowned His people? Certainly not! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. [1 Sam 12:22; Jer 31:37; 33:24-26; Phil 3:5] |
Subject: did God divorce Israel |
Bible Note: Hi T'oma, God hates divorce. Malachi 2:16. Yet, even with the unfaithfulness and unrepentant adultery in worshiping other gods in this anology in the spiritual realm, God is telling them to return to Him. Jeremiah 3:11 says that "Faithless Israel has proved herself more righteous than treacherous Judah." He says to return and acknowledge their iniquity, and Jeremiah 3:14, NKJ, says "Return, O backsliding children," says the Lord; "FOR I AM MARRIED TO YOU. I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion." (Emphasis mine). From the heart, Ray |
