AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 11:1 I say then, has God rejected and disowned His people? Certainly not! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. [1 Sam 12:22; Jer 31:37; 33:24-26; Phil 3:5] |
Bible Question: did God divorce Israel |
Bible Answer: Hi billwalk, No, God did not divorce His people, Israel. There is nothing in scripture to say He did. Consider Romans 11:1-2: " I say then, God has not rejected His people, has He? May it never be! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?" Israel is Gods' chosen people according to Deut. 7:6-9. I hope this helps, BradK |
