Subject: when a I saved and when baptised |
Bible Note: revjackl, Acts 2:38 Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins;and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Romans 10:9-10 will go right along with this passage. Hear's a question, would one do any of this without the assurance of God and His Word? Being saved isn't a matter of progression,at this point you believe or you don't. Now if this is the case why would you not be baptized at this point? Acts 2:38 is pretty clear. We dont do the first two ( repentance, confession) and not take it the rest of the way. There is no promise how strong our faith will be at this moment. But I will tell you this that when I came up out of the water I knew beyond the shodow of doubt that I was born again. Did I have doubts and concerns still? You betcha. But I knew God had forgiven me and that I was at this point one of His kids. Salvation is'nt something entered into lightly. When one has the faith and grace as you said anchored in them then one see's it all the way through. If one does not have this in them the there will be no repentance,no confession and no baptizm and in that case then that person is not saved. God has made it simple for all of us,we just tend to make things complicated. In Him, lionheart |
