Bible Question: Can a man know God and be intimately acquainted with Him and not have scriptures? |
Bible Answer: I've pondered this question also at an earlier time. I found the scriptures in Roman's compelling in Rm 1:20 where it clearly states that "Since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understod from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. Another reference to look at is Col 1:23. Paul is talking to believers, but makes a statement to them saying, "...This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven..." I find it interesting that Paul claims that every creature under heaven has had the Gospel proclaimed. Also going back to Romans, 2:12-16, and more specifically verse 14 wher Paul talks about Gentiles who do not have the law, do by nature things required by law....v 15 since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing withness..." I think these scriptures can say that God reveals himself to man and within us is a sense of right and wrong. I'm not sure I have an answer to the part of your question about being intimately acquainted with Him. I would find that difficult. |
