Bible Question: will you go to heaven if you kill your self |
Bible Answer: Oh boy this question is always one answered in length so here I go. Ok it is never really addressed where you will go for suicide, for good reason. If we knew we went to Heaven if we killed ourselves think of how many suicides there would be of CHristians killing themselves after finding Christ. Then we would not be fulfilling out duty to spread the Gospel but if the Bible said we go to Hell then it might be to much grief on family members. So...lets look at a few other things first. The 13t Commandment is Thou Shalt Not Kill. Committing suicide is killing ourselves, so could you say that in doing so you are disobeying God and that is as we know a sin. So killing ourselves could be viewed as disobeying this commandment. Now in 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you/17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy: for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. Here it is stressed that we are the temple of God, a temple is a very very sacred place is it not. So destroying the temple would have deadly consiquences would it not. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God and ye are not your own?/20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore gorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's When he are born again we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and our sins have been washed away in the Blood. Christ dying on the cross was the price paid. After being Born Again we are no longer our own, our bodies belong to God. Is it not wrong to destroy something that doesnt belong to you. |
