AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 10:10 For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteous--being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation. |
Bible Question: Hello all. As a new Christian I have pretty much kept to myself about accepting Jesus as my savior. I feel that I'm not growing in my relationship with Jesus through my studies, readings and prayers. The youth pastor at the church I was talking, feels that I need to announce to the people at the church that I am now saved. He said that the bible saids to do this.. I can't find scripture to back this up. Does anyone know of where the Bible said that as a new christian you are suppose to announce to everyone at the church about your new salvation? |
Bible Answer: "With the mouth a person confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation." AMPLIFIED Romans 10:9 Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. AMPLIFIED Romans 10:10 For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation. NASB Matthew 10:32 "Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. AMPLIFIED Luke 12:8 And I tell you, Whoever declares openly [speaking out freely] and confesses that he is My worshiper and acknowledges Me before men, the Son of Man also will declare and confess and acknowledge him before the angels of God. NASB Acts 8:37 [And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."] |
