Bible Question: Normally a person at the moment of salvation receive the Holy Spirit, I am told. However, this passage does not support that. Phillip baptized (with water) many Samaritans but Apostle John and Peter came down and prayed for them so they may receive the Holy Spirit. Any good explanation for this? |
Bible Answer: Hi,Nice to see your discussion. I just want to explain the life of Christianity. When ever you are hearing gospel and started responding for gospel and belive Jesus. That is salvation.Rom:10:17 and Rom:10-Baptism is nothing but Commiting ourself to Jesus. -I Pet:3:21,22-baptism -not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,- through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him. -. Anointing by Holy Spirit is the separate incident. For that we can see many example in Bible. Acts 2nd chapter and 19th and Acts 10:47-48-Then Peter answered, "Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?" And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days. So we need to wait in prayer to receive the HolySpirit anointing. |
