AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 22:28 The commander replied, "I purchased this citizenship [of mine] for a large sum of money [so how did you acquire yours?]." Paul said, "But I was actually born a citizen." |
Bible Question: Paul says he is a Roman citizen, but in Romans he states he's never been to Rome. How can he be a citizen then? |
Bible Answer: Where is it written that one's citizenship is determined solely by one's place of birth? For example, if a husband and wife who are American citizens and are living in a foreign country have a child born to them in that country, is not the child an American citizen? Or if a French diplomat and his wife have a child born to them in England, is not the child a citizen of France? Moreover, Paul himself said: "But I was actually born a citizen." Or "I was born [Roman]!" |
