AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, "Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. |
Subject: How is the Holy spirit given to you |
Bible Note: BradK Just want to make a few simple statements regarding your post. You have not read my post Properly. I never said Baptism was a prereqiusite for repentance. I said the exact opposite as represented by Acts 2:38 or 37? - All I did was copy paste the verse. Regarding using other scriptures, Romans for example. Guess i could have but I thought the one's I referenced were adequate since the Bible does not contradict itself. And I could ask you why did you not use Acts or the Gospels????Correction is a beautiful thing I appreciate your efforts although in this case I failed to see your point of view. I could easily go through the other letters by Paul with you to further prove my point but I see no profit in that exercise. I will stick with "Repent everyone and be baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus and you shall recieve the gift of the Holy Spirit." I know, it comes out of a narrative and therefore it does not count. |
