AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, "Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. |
Subject: where in bible doesit say baptism saves |
Bible Note: Hello Barach, If I may be so bold as to ask: Where exactly does Acts 2:37 command that "all Christians must be baptized"? Strictly speaking, who was being addressed? I think vs 36 is helpful: "Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ--this Jesus whom you crucified." I think further caution should be taken in presenting Acts as the NT doctrinal blueprint for salvation. Though it is indeed part of the canon and Divinely inspired, it's purpose is more that of a Historical Narrative! Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
