Bible Note: Dear Chris, What you've stated is basically what I understand to have taken place. I had rather supposed that the term Christian (i.e., "little Christs") from the openly statement of God's objective. Christianity made no secret about God's objective. They taught that God's intention was to conform His own to the image of His Son (i.e., "Christ-likeness"). This is the objective stated in Matthew 28:18-20, and fleshed out in the epistles. Frankly, I doubt that pagans knew enough about Christ to have recognized similarities in His followers.
