Subject: The godhead or perhaps the divine? |
Bible Note: Hi Robert, I agree with you entirely. Perhaps the lower case divine nature would be a suggestion that you should make to the Lockman Foundation. Or perhaps they are already considering it. I strive to be consistent in the capitalization of the pronouns concerning Deity, and the verses and the Greek meanings that you have brought forward helped me to decide for the lower case. And since I agree with you entirely, I would say that fullness of Deity or "fullness of the Godhead in bodily form" is very appropriate from the Greek in Col 2:9. I would go on to say that you, having been filled, are in Him, the One/ who is the Head over all rule and authority. Colossians 3:10, "and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One/ who created him -- a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised,, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all." That is how I look at it, for what it is worth. From the heart, Ray |
