Bible Note: Paul wrote: "I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin." (NASB Romans 11:1) NASB Acts 16:38 The policemen reported these words to the chief magistrates. They were afraid when they heard that they were Romans, Acts 16:38 does not say or mean that Paul was not a Jew. All it says is that he was Roman ("they were Romans" NASB). Speaking of himself, Paul wrote: NASB Romans 11:1 I say then, God has not rejected His people, has He? May it never be! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 Cor. 11:22 (ESV) Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they offspring of Abraham? So am I.
