NASB | Acts 16:15 And when she and her household had been baptized, she urged us, saying, "If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and stay." And she prevailed upon us. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 16:15 And when she was baptized, along with her household, she pleaded with us, saying, "If you have judged me and decided that I am faithful to the Lord [a true believer], come to my house and stay." And she persuaded us. |
Bible Question:
Nolan: Why is it "logical" to assume that all the household baptisms were believer's baptisms? --Joe! |
Bible Answer: Joe, Let me interject ... It is because of the other occurances of baptism in Acts, including 2:38. Also, even when John baptized, it wes after the confession of sins (Matt 3:6). I see in Galatians (3:27) and other letters that baptism is related to a member of the Godhead. Do you see the logic? Steve |
