Subject: Do you pay tithes on whole check or part |
Bible Note: Johnny This is nonsense. Read my last response it answered your questions. You do not want the truth you want to what you have been taught. You have been proof texted and proof texting can prove anything. Here is the truth. Tithe was more than Old Testament law it was a social custom of the time. It was used to pay tribute, show respect and to honor a person. FACT! While the New Testament does not require tithes, it does not prohibit them. FACT! Some People myself included pay tithes to honor God, to worship God, to pay tribute to God. FACT! Everyone has a moral obligation to pay their way. FACT! The bible teaches Luke 10:7 "Stay in that house, eating and drinking what they give you; for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not keep moving from house to house. 1 Cor. 9:6 Or do only Barnabas and I not have a right to refrain from working? 1 Cor. 9:14 So also the Lord directed those who proclaim the gospel to get their living from the gospel. Galatians 6:6 The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him. 1 Tim. 5:18 For the Scripture says, "YOU SHALL NOT MUZZLE THE OX WHILE HE IS THRESHING," and "The laborer is worthy of his wages." 2 Cor. 11:8 I robbed other churches by taking wages from them to serve you; 1 Cor. 9:11 If we sowed spiritual things in you, is it too much if we reap material things from you? 1 Tim. 5:17 The elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching. These scriptures all talk about being paid or receiving pay for preaching/ teaching the gospel. FACT! Paul did in fact take money for preaching he said as much in 2 Cor. 11:8 I robbed other churches by taking wages from them to serve you; FACT! The disciples received wages (room and board) for preaching. Luke 10:7 "Stay in that house, eating and drinking what they give you; for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not keep moving from house to house. FACT! As to the issue of self defense there is no point going there is you refuse to consider what I say on tithing. However this issue has been discussed before and if your really interested do a search for word sword in the quick search. EdB |
