Subject: Do you pay tithes on whole check or part |
Bible Note: Johnny Again I apologize for my short answers this morning. I gave Luke 10:7 because you said show me where the disciples ever got paid for preaching. Here they get paid. Call it what you want they are paid. I gave 2Cor 11:8 because you said show me where Paul ever got paid. Here he clearly says he took money in the form of wages from other churches while in Corinth. You asked where does it say pay a pastor and I gave you many scriptures and now you say read them in context. I read them in context and they still mean the same thing. This is going no where I'm not sure what the problem is. You have some very unusual ideas and you seem to refuse to listen to anything that may change them. Let me say it on more time. Yes your right tithing is not taught in the New Testament. Yes we are no longer under the Law. You do not have to tithe. However a church must have money to function. You are under a moral, not biblical, but a moral obligation to support that which benefits you. Biblically you are to support your pastor. Tithing (not tithing under the law) was a way show worship and pay tribute. So what better way to honor God, support the church and pay the pastor than giving 10 percent today? That way everyone does not have to give the same but they will have the same sacrifice. Let me add I know for a fact God still honors Malachi 3:10-11, he has done it in my life and and God did it in my parents lives and I have seen God do it many others lives. I would challenge you to try it yourself and see if God will honor His promises. If He doesn't then stop. That is about as clear as I can make it. In any case let's drop this discussion, because we are just not communicating. In Christ's Love. |
