Bible Question:
Well actually you have stirred up another question! Psalm 91:12. It reads, "They [angels] will bear you up in their hands, lest you strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and cobra, the young lion and the serpent you will trample down. So would this pertain to a saved individual! If so! Why would I have been save when I was at best a casual believer? And the only other person with me died? Would the Angles not protect both? |
Bible Answer: Hi RGS, Lets look at this from different Angles. :) I say that as a joke because the word angel is misspelled so often on this forum.***** Psalm 91 definitely is talking about the saved individual from start to finish. Verse 1, "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the (Almighty.) Verse 9, "For you have made the Lord, my refuge, Even the (Most) High, your dwelling place. Verse 15, "He will call upon Me, and (I) will answer him;..." ***** He is our refuge and fortress and He is our dwelling place. I rejoice with you that verse 16 may apply to you, "With a long life I will satisfy him, And let him behold My salvation." ****** Whether we have long lives or short we can know that God is our refuge and strength. It is comforting to know that there is the possibility that angels are watching over us and protecting us. But again, Jesus had the possibility of calling them but did not because that was not in His purpose.***** God's eye is on the sparrow also, but we have to realize that the sparrow still falls to the ground. We will not live here on earth forever, we will all die of something sometime, and we can not presume that we will be protected forever. And certainly we should not test God and jump from a high place with the faith that the angels with catch us.******* I rejoice with you that your life continues after your life threatening situation. I am sorry that your pilot did not survive. There are no guarantees in life except that God will be with the believer to the end when we will behold His salvation.****** You have asked of us, "Why me?" That is the question that every believer asks for we are all worthy of death and have the possibility of death. You are the chosen one in your situation for a "second chance" so to speak. May we all live our continued periods of life, however long or short, in gratitude for what He has done and rejoice that our names are recorded in heaven. Luke 10:20 ***** From the heart, Ray |
