Subject: How to overcome spiritual dryness |
Bible Note: Hi Ray! As I re-read this verse, I am inclined (personal opinion)to NOT capitalize the word "his" but I would consider captializing "living water!" I have concluded this because Jesus is the source of living water.(John 4:10) As believers, we have the presence of the Lord within us (our inmost being); therefore, the Living Water flows in us! Jesus also said, "Apart from Me you can do nothing." (John 15:5) I have also thought about Jesus' death and the water that flowed from His side. (John 19:34) God obviously wants us to consider this fact from more than just a physical or medical perspective. As I reflect on this scene, I find it amazing to note that He had to die in order for the Living Water to be released to us. I suspect that the Living Water that flows from our inmost being, not only quenches our thirst, but often refreshes others as well. (What does mean for dry cisterns?!) You are a wonderful refreshment Ray! May the Spirit of the Lord encourage you to continue to draw near to Him! mommapbs PS: Referencing John 4:23 and John 3:5 - perhaps this "water" is the living water? (Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life . . . John 14:6) Just something to consider! |
