Bible Question: What is the difference of Bread of life and Bread of Heaven (John 6:51) |
Bible Answer: The Word states In John 6:33 that the “bread of God” (who is in heaven) is he which cometh down from heaven (Who was it that came from heaven? It was Jesus.) and giveth life unto the world. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. Therefore, the bread of heaven (God) and the bread of life (Jesus) are the same. In John 6:49-50 it reads, your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. Of course, this verse is referring to Deut 6:2-3 where it is written,…the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee…and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna…The bread or manna that fell from the heavens in the wilderness was provided by the Lord thy God. Jesus said in John 6:48, I am that bread of life. There is no difference between the bread of life and the bread of heaven. Jesus is the only one Lord AND God who came from heaven to give life unto the world |
