Subject: Why leave the waterpot? |
Bible Note: Hi Pastor Glenn, I agree with you; I think that her thirst was quenched. She had received the words of eternal life and was satisfied. She had met the Holy One of God. I compare Isaiah 55:3 with John 4:15 Isaiah 55:3, "Incline your ear and come to *Me, Listen, that you [Literally, your soul] may live;..." John 4:15, "The woman said to Him, "*Sir, give me this water, so I will not be thirsty, nor come all the way here to draw." This woman was given the living water and knew Him as the Prophet and the Christ. I contrast Isaiah 55:2 with John 4:8 Isaiah 55:2, "Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to *Me and eat what is good, And delight yourself in abundance." John 4:8, "For *His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food." While the woman was witnessing for the Christ the disciples were requesting Him to eat. John 4:32, "But He said to them, "I have food to eat that you do not know about." God's will concerning spiritual food is accomplished when we listen carefully to Him, eat what is good, and enjoy abundant life. From the heart, Ray |
