NASB | John 4:14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | John 4:14 "But whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again. But the water that I give him will become in him a spring of water [satisfying his thirst for God] welling up [continually flowing, bubbling within him] to eternal life." |
Bible Question (short): well of life and Tree of Life |
Question (full): In Spenser's poem The Faerie Queen, Redcross Knight was fighting the evil Dragon. But the knight was defeated twice. The first time he was nourished by the well of life and got refreshed. He went to fight the Dragon again and again was defeated by the Dragon. He then was nourished by the Tree of Life. the third time he defeated the Dragon. My question is: Is the Well of life singly not powerful enough to strengthen him with the power to defeat the Dragon? |
