AMPLIFIED 2015 | John 3:36 "He who believes and trusts in the Son and accepts Him [as Savior] has eternal life [that is, already possesses it]; but he who does not believe the Son and chooses to reject Him, [disobeying Him and denying Him as Savior] will not see [eternal] life, but [instead] the wrath of God hangs over him continually." Bible Note: Hi Aspiring Overseer, If we believe we will obey won't we. Like our hymn says, "Trust and obey"; there is no other way to be happy in Jesus. John 3:36, "...but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life,..." James 2:17, "Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. But someone may well [will] say, "You have faith, and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works." You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless?" The one who does not obey certainly will not see the abundant, joyful life that Jesus promises. The one who has no works is vain, hollow, useless. But I am not going to judge my brother or regard my brother with contempt, for we all shall stand before the judgment seat of God. NKJ, Romans 14:11, "For it is written: "As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God." So then each of us shall give account of himself to God." Having said all that, I believe that it is important to gain from this study that there is one God. James 2:19, "You believe that God/ is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder." NKJ, Mark 12:32, "So the scribe said to Him, "Well said, Teacher. *You have spoken the truth, for there is one God, and there is no other but He/." James 2:5, "Listen my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love *Him? If we love Him we will obey Him. Jesus said in John 15:14, "You are My friends, if you do what I command you." From the heart, Ray |
