Bible Question: I have been taught that according to Jewish tradition a man could be born again 6 or 7 times if he was a Jew. Can you shed any facts on this? |
Bible Answer: jirehway Where did you hear of this Jewish tradition? Traditional Judaism held to one life one death just as Christianity does. Nothing I’m aware of or ever heard suggests Jews accepted any teaching of reincarnation so I would be very interested where you heard this idea. As for being born again as in saved the scripture you cited, tells of the Pharisee Nicodemus' inability to accept such a concept, so that aspect couldn’t have been common thinking among Jews of time and it isn’t now.
