Bible Question:
Dear Steve Many Blessings to you this day. What would I do with 1 John 1-10? I would do just as I do all scripture. I would read the entire book or at least the whole verse. What I would never do is just pick a verse and let my imagination go with it. Continue on and see what you come up with. Take notice to chapter 3. Lord Bless You |
Bible Answer: Greetings shing! Pointing to 1 John 3 does not answer the question. This does not negate the scriptures I ask you to consider regarding a believer sinning. When reading 1 John 3 give consideration to these two words as you read it. “abides” and “practices”. I think if you do it should help you understand it better. As you have presented it you appear to be saying this teaches something different then what the verses I pointed out to you does. Consider the scriptures I have pointed out and add to that 1 John 2:1 1 John 2:1 (NASB) 2:1 My little children, I am writing these things to you that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; Did you happen to read that one when you read the whole book? The scripture clearly reads “…And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father…” Like the other verses I referenced, it is clear from scripture the believer still sins. Again I ask you, what do you do with the scriptures I have pointed out? You point to 1 John 3 but that does not answer the question nor does it put away the clear teaching of the scriptures I referenced. If you think that it does please explain your teaching. Thanks and by the way, thank you again for your blessings. God bless you as well and may He bless us both as we discuss His word. By Faith, Steve |
